Roman Catholic Church of St. Barbara

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Barbara is an architectural monument of the 19th century. The church is active. It is located in Zheleznodorozhny district of the city at Leningradskaya street, 27.

Church of St. Barbara combines neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style. It is a three-nave basilica with two two-tiered towers on the main facade.

The first tier is tetrahedral, the second is hexagonal. The towers, each decorated with six small pediments, are topped by hipped roofs with crosses. Between the towers there is a triangular pinnacle as wide as the central nave.

The church of St. Barbara has arched windows of different sizes. The outside of church is decorated with architectural details, created by brickwork (cornice bands, window endings, etc.). The interior decoration is represented by dense entablature along the perimeter of the main nave. The altars are created in the Romanesque-Gothic style. Chandeliers and wall lamps are used for lighting.

The area of the church is surrounded by brick fence with a brema (gate).

The church with the fence and friarage is included in the "State list of historical and cultural values of Vitebsk" as a monument of national importance.

An electronic organ is installed in the church.
