Pushkinskiy Bridge

This 28-meter pedestrian bridge was built across the Vitsba River and connects two streets - Pushkin and Tolstoy. It was built in 1961.

Today Pushkin Bridge is a solid arch structure, the supporting parts of which are made of reinforced concrete. The bridge is so beloved by the citizens that at the beginning of the XXI century there was a new tradition in the city of Vitebsk - the newlyweds hang a lock on the bridge as a symbol of eternal and indestructible love. And the keys to family happiness are safely guarded by the Vitsba. There is another, more ancient tradition associated with the Pushkin bridge. It dates back to the beginning of its construction and says that as a sign of pure love and unshakable family happiness, the groom should carry his bride across this bridge in his arms.

The Pushkin bridge was renovated in 2010. Instead of asphalt there are tiles, decorative lighting was installed, and the bridge entrance was decorated with four bronze lions. Since then, the bridge became a pedestrian bridge.
